Organic Beet Seeds for Microgreens

Organic Beet seeds are easy to grow into Microgreens in your kitchen all year. They have the Latin name Beta vulgaris conditiva. Beet is also called: Red beet, Beetroot or Sugar-beet.

Vitamins and minerals in Beet

Beet Microgreens is the most nutritious sprout and microgreen you can find. They contain the vitamins: A, B6, B9, C and the minerals Iron, Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium, Sodium.

Beet is a slow sprout

Beet is very slow to get started. I may take as much as 7 days until the seeds open and let our the first little sign of purple life. Because of this many give up on the sprouts. To make sure you get a result, the trick is to make sure, the seeds do not dry out during cultivation – even if the twice daily rinsing seem useless. But it is veru important that you keep the seeds wet. If they dry out, they wither and will never grow. So just keep rinsing, keep the seeds from drying out and you will get your besutiful plants.

Taste and use in food

Beet is a very beautiful plant both as sprout and as the bigger microgreen. As the plants have an after taste of red beet, I personally prefer to use them in green dishes where red beet would be natural. That would be in sandwiches, green salads and wraps. But you can also use these very beautiful plants as decoration on cake, ice cream or other desserts.

Cultivation time of organic Beet seeds for Microgreens

You can grow your organic Beet seeds into either sprouts or microgreens. If your kitchen temperature is 18-23 ° C / 64-73 ° F, your Beet sprouts should be ready for harvest after 10 days of cultivation. At the same temperature, they should have grown to mature microgreens after a total of 20 days.

Cultivation device for Beet microgreens

Beet sprouts can grow in any sprouting device that can keep the seeds wet enough to sprout. The bigger Beet Microgreens will, however, give the best result in a SproutPearl sprouter or a Hemp mat. This is because these two methods let the plants get plenty of room to grow and ensure enough ventilation around the plant tops.
See SproutPearl sprouter or See Hemp mat.

Microgreens need light and fertilizer

If you grow Microgreens, then the plants need artificial light and extra fertilizer from day 7 of the cultivation. Under MICRO KIT you can find descriptions about the right amount of light and fertilizer for Microgreens when you use each product. Visit Micro Kit.

I have also written different blog articles about microgreens. Those may interest you and give you tips for succes.
