CHOOSE YOUR MICROGREEN SEEDS

Are you not sure which seed varieties are right for you? Then you can easily explore the exiting range of homegrown organic microgreens with these small portion bags.

Each microgreen portion bag fits ½ tray in your SproutPearl sprouter. As this sprouter can contain two varieties of seeds in each tray, you will need two portion bags to fill one full tray in the sprouter.

As each portion bag contain seeds enough for about two handfuls of cultivates microgreen plants, you will soon be able to enjoy new greens in your cooking just with a few of these portion bags for your SproutPearl sprouter.

SIZE OF MICROGREENS SEED BAGS

The Microgreen portion bags contain an amount of organic seeds to precisely fit ½ SproutPearl seed tray. The seed amount may seem small for some of the varieties, but you will notice that the quantity of dry seeds will grow to fill the tray.

So even though some bags say 5 grams of seeds, 7 grams or 10 grams, then the amount fits 1/2 of your SproutPearl sprouter tray.

The quantity of microgreen seeds varies to fit the size, that your cultivated plants get in the SproutPearl sprouter, when the microgreens are ready for your to harvest them. You can see the cultivation time of each seed variety on the label on each bag as well as in the manual that come with the SproutPearl sprouter.

MICROGREEN PORTION BAGS IN KITS

You may notice that some of the starter kits in the webshop may have portion bags of organic sprouting seeds included in the pack.

The seed bags in those kits are portion bags as the ones in here. The only difference is that in the dropdown above you will only find seeds that are suitable for Microgreen cultivation.

As some seeds – lentils, chickpea and beans – are suitable only for sprouts without leaves, those varieties are left out of your microgreen choise range in here.

You can learn more about the difference between sprouts and microgreens in this blog post >

HOW TO CHOOSE MICROGREEN SEEDS

Are you in doubt on which seeds, you should choose for your homegrown Microgreens? Then the Sprout Chart may help you.

In the Sprout Chart you will find a list of all the varieties in the shop + a description of more exotic sprouts and microgreens.

The chart also show you the level of each variety, taste, color a.o. And if you find yourself tempted by the descriptions, you can follow the links to the shop, where you will find seeds for your organic microgreens and sprouts.

As sprouts and microgreens are two different sizes of plants, you will notice that the Chart differ between the two. Visit the Chart >

You can choose between all the varieties of seeds in the drop down menu above. They all fit the SproutPearl sprouter. Each of them fit ½ seed tray. But if you are specially adventurous, there is the Surprice me  option.

The Surprise Me option is if you love surprises. Here I choose a sprout type for you that you do not already have in your order. Feel free to write in the order message box if you are into spizy or mild sprouts on beginner or practised level.

TIPS FOR YOUR
ORGANIC MICROGREENS

MOULD OR ROOTS

If you are new to the world of microgreen cultivation, then you may wonder why some plants form fluffy roots. These are called Root hairs. They look like mould for the first 2-4 days of your cultivation.

You wil especially see this on Broccoli, Kale, Sunflower and Radish. But corn and other microgreens may also form them. The key to ensure they are roots is to smell your microgreens. If the scent is like soil, the plants have gone bad and must me discarded. But if their scent is like fresh salad, then the plants are fine.

You can eat the root hairs same as the rest of the plant. They have much fibre, but not much taste. If you find the roots a bit ‘much’, you may choose to cut them off, when you harvest your mature microgreens.

FUN MICROGREENS SEED MIX

Are you tempted to mix the microgreen seeds from several seed bags to create your own sprouting mix?

I understand your desire, but I recommend you wait to mix the varieties until you harvest your sprouts or microgreens.

Why?

Because even if you cultivate your plants in a SproutPearl sprouter, then many of the seed varieties will not trive when growing close together with a variety that is not in the same bothanical family.

So to ensure you get the best experience when cultivating your microgreens, I recommend that you buy my pre packed mixed seed bags.
