HOW YOU FIND THE RIGHT SEED AMOUNT

Seed amount for sprouting FRESH SPROUTS

MEASURING THE SEEDS

Your sprouts will grow best when there is balance between
the amount of sprout seeds and sprout container size.
This is easy to achieve with a few tips on seed quantity.

TOO MANY SEEDS

If there are too many seeds in your sprouter, your
sprouts cannot get rid of excess moisture and heat.
Also the ventilation in the sprouter gets worse, so the
sprouts do not get vital new air supply.

TOO FEW SEEDS

If there are too few seeds in the sprouter, then the seeds
and sprouts easily dry out because moisture most easily
stick to the small plants when there is little spacing
between them. Even slightly parched sprouts have difficulty regaining their
healthy state even after they have been rewetted.

THE RIGHT SEED AMOUNT

So many sprouts in a tray is as unfortunate as too few.
How do you achieve the perfect balance?
With time and experience, you will learn how many seeds
to pour in your tray to get the best balance. Until then,
you can follow an easy rule of thumb …

The seeds should cover 3/4 of the bottom of the sprouter
when dry. The seeds must always be in one layer regardless
of type of seed when you use this measurement.
