Tips for Organic Chickpea Sprouts
SOAKING
Your Chickpeas for sprouts will absorb their weight in water during soaking. Because of this, you need to submerse them in a glass with 1 part dry peas to 4 parts clean, cool drinking water.
The chickpeas will slowly turn a lighter shade of sand as they get filled with moist. After 12 hours they should all be about twice as big and have a flat sound, when you pour them into the SproutPearl.
If the sound i sharp, then the Chickpeas have not absorbed enough water.
BOIL CHICKPEA SPROUTS BEFORE EATING
Chickpeas are special in that they contain lechtins like all legumes, but they also contain a natural protein digestive blocking substance called trypsin inhibitor.
Trypsin inhibitors may cause stomach ache if you eat the Chickpea sprouts raw. The substances are lowered but not completely neutralized during the sprouting process.
To neutrilize them you should give the sprouted chickpeas a 3-5 minute boil just before eating them.
